General Troubleshooting

  1. Cup resists attachment and detachment from Cup Holder.

  2. Spindle Housing tracks poorly.

  3. Bob does not rotate when it is activated by AUTO, TRACE or SET RPM.

  4. STOP button nor displays light up when the power is turned on (and unit is properly plugged in).

  5. Cup Holder does not rotate smoothly.


Cup resists attachment and detachment from Cup Holder.

Likely Cause:  Dried sample material in and around the Cup Holder.
Solution:  Clean thoroughly with steel wool.

Likely Cause:  Bur has formed on Cup's camlock groove.
Solution:  File bur off.

Like Cause:  Cup is bent.
Solution:  Replace with a new cup immediately.



Sprindle Housing tracks poorly.

Likely Cause:  Sample material on Slide.
Solution:  Clean thoroughly with stiff brush.

Likely Cause:  A bur has formed on the Slide.
Solution:  Use fine sandpaper or emery cloth to remove bur and lubmircate.
 
 Bob does not rotate when it is activated by AUTO, TRACE or SET RPM.
 
Likely Cause: DC fuse (located in back of unit) has blown.
Solution: Replace with AGC 20 fuse only.

Power switch indicator nor displays light up when the power is turned on (and unit is properly plugged in).

Likely Cause: AC fuse is blown.
Solution: Contact Kaltec's Service Department before replacing.

Cup Holder does not rotate smoothly.

Likely Cause: Dried sample material on lower, inner edge of Cup Holder.
Solution: Scrape out material with an instrument that can reach under-edge of Cup Holder.

Likely Cause: Bearings are damaged or worn.
Solution: Have Cup Holder Bearings replaced. Contact Kaltec's Service Department.
